FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Delaware Soybean Board is now accepting proposals for communications and promotion projects for its 2027 fiscal year designed to benefit Delaware soybean farmers through the Soybean Checkoff program.

Proposals are being sought for projects that align with priority areas identified in the Board’s strategic plan, including animal agriculture, consumer education, emerging markets, production, and technology. While these categories represent key priorities, the Board encourages applicants to submit innovative proposals that will create meaningful impact the soybean industry in Delaware.

“From consumer outreach to emerging market development, these projects play an important role in strengthening demand for Delaware soybeans and supporting the long-term success of our farmers,” said Delaware Soybean Board Chair Tim Rogers. “We encourage organizations, educators, industry partners, and innovators to submit proposals that will create meaningful value for Delaware soybean farmers and help advance the future of agriculture in our state.”

Projects are selected for funding by the farmer-leaders of the Delaware Soybean Board. Funded projects through this opportunity will operate as reimbursement partnerships, with selected applicants reimbursed upon submission of invoices and supporting documentation and are required to provide quarterly updates. All approved projects will run from October 1 through September 30, with multi-year projects considered subject to annual Board review and approval.

Interested applicants must complete the official proposal template and upload their submission PDF format through the Delaware Soybean Board’s online project management portal at https://projects.desoybeans.org/ by July 17, 2026. Individuals or organizations needing assistance with account setup or additional information may contact Executive Director Danielle Bauer at danielle@desoybeans.org. Awards are expected to be announced on or before September 13, 2026.

Delaware farmers plant approximately 150,000 acres of soybeans annually, producing more than seven million bushels and contributing significantly to the state’s agricultural economy. The Delaware Soybean Board consists of farmer-directors and the Secretary of Agriculture. Funded through a one-half of one percent assessment on the net market value of soybeans at their first point of sale, the soybean checkoff works with partners across the value chain to identify and capture opportunities that increase farmer profit potential.
